Has anyone kept horseface loach (Acanthopsis choirorhynchus) ? If so any comments/opinions. Also what is the proper temp range for this fish? I've read numerous sources that come up with different ranges from 79 to 84 -- to 61 to 75. Not sure if there are different species being called horseface loaches or different regions. Too many different (knowledgeable) sites have these different ranges to believe they are all erronous (even if many sites copy each other).

I kept them years ago... In community tank at around 25-26 degress. Loved seeing their heads sticking out of sand!!!

Looked it up and temperature ranges from 18-28 degrees lol...... Lots of different information alright.

All I can tell you is they didn't seem too upset at 25-26 degress..

Had them for 5 years then re-homed as I was starting college.

Temperature is also a difficult one as fish are pretty adaptable and generations of breeding for aquarium trade outside of their natural habitat is certainly having an effect.... I have no idea if horseface loaches are wild caught or bred but it makes a big difference... There are also a few different species.

I looked up fish which share their habitat...

Pangio anguillaris 22-29 degress

Pangio oblonga (black kuhli) 21-26 degress

Esomus metallicus 20-26 degress

Seems 24-25 would be perfect
