Well- I don't know much on Betta types. But, friend, you can't keep bettas in vases :(

They need at least a 3 gallon tank with a heater and filter.

Thank you for your concern and lifting awareness!! I say 2.5 minimum for (SOME bettas, but some need bigger) as some can no keep 3 gallons when keeping 50 males for breeding. I know they do, I just rescued them and getting their tanks ready but needed to get them out of those nasty cups.... :)
I have them cycled, but am adding in new plants.

Ah, I typically say 3 gallons as 2.5 doesn't leave much room for substrate!

And wonderful- I didn't mean to accuse or anything at all. Thank you for rescuing them!

I could be wrong, but he looks like a juvenile veiltail to me. Spade tails are usually much shorter.

Looks like a young veiltail. Spade tails don't droop when flared, and they are super rare- they only exist as mutations. No one has been able to breed a line of spadetails yet (though many have tried)

No, no, it is great you commented. I mean, I could have been housing them in jars permanently!!

Aha, thank you! I try my best to make sure that proper Betta care is more widespread. I appreciate you giving these babies a good home :)

I have only seen pictures. Don't really look at the bettas at the stores anymore, i am usually on more broader missions these days.

No, they were like defective, so they sent replacements, and also terrible.. The replacement one will rip apart my girls and refuses to spawn..

I don't know. I bought them off of Betta squad USA which is supposed to be a reputable breeder..
