Harlequins & Porkchop Rasboras

It seems I have accidentally ended up with 6 porkchop rasboras and 2 harlequins as a result of my LFS mislabeling their fish.

Will they be ok together and school or is it a problem?

They are currently the only fish in my 23 gallon tank.

You will need a group of 6 of each species, unfortunately, but you can always rehome the 2 harlequins...

I feared that was the case. I will post photos later if I can get decent s to see if my assumption that they are different is correct.

Here are photos of two that seem to have fairly different black markings. Could it be that one is more juvenile than the other or are they different species?

Here are a couple pictures of my lambchops for comparison purposes. To me, the guy in your first picture looks different. The one in your second picture definitely looks like a lambchop to me.

They will still school together, I wouldn't worry about it.

I have never seen the lambchops for sale, I have the harlequins, But if I ever do see them then a school will come home with me. They are very attractive. Alison

The two in question are Harlequins, Trigonostigma heteromorpha. All the others on this page look more like Glowlight Rasboras to me (T. hengeli) than Lamchops (T. espei).

Just confirming that this was in respect of the two photos I posted?

Forget that, I've had another look and I was so obviously wrong. The first pic shows a Harlequin, the 2nd shows T. hengeli.

Ok. Will they be ok or am I going to have problems?

No problems. They should shoal together but would prefer groups of their own species.

Ok I will leave them as is for now. If I have any excess capacity when I finish stocking I will get some more harlequins.
