5 Gallon Tank Hardy fish for 5 gallon nano tank?

I just ordered everything I need for my new tank other than the aquascape materials. The tank is a UNS 5N (4.6 gal). It's a good size for my desk, so I'm looking for some colorful fish to add some contrast.

I plan to have the tank heavily planted so I'd enjoy fish that use all the vegetation. I think I'd like to add a few cherry shrimp, as the substrate and aquascape will be on the darker side. I plan to have both dark and light green plants as well as carpeting plants (haven't decided which plants I want yet- need to visit my LFS).

As for water parameters, my water is hard and my pH is a little over 7.5, so I'm looking for fish that are more hardy or prefer more alkaline water.

Any ideas?

Maybe a few guppies (I'd suggest all males unless you have a plan to deal with fry).

A few Endlers livebearers (especially wildtype) or least killifish would work. Both species have been super hardy in my experience.
