Hello all,

I will be buying a 75 gallon tank here in the next few weeks when I move into my new house.

From this link http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/cookie_cutter_75g.php I found one setup I particularly enjoy:

Blue and Yellow Haplochromine Setup:
Select 1 from each group:

Group A: Blue
Cyrtocara moorii - 4
• Placidochromis phenochilus - 5
• Copadichromis azureus - 6
• Sciaenochromis fryeri - 5

Group B: Blue & Yellow:
Protomelas sp. "spilonotus Tanzania" - 1 pair
• Otopharynx lithobates (Zimbabwe) - 4

Group C: Yellow
• Aulonocara baenschi - 2 pair
• Aulonocara sp. "Stuartgranti Maleri" (Maleri Is.) - 2 pair

I already have a fantastic OB Peacock, so group C would just be my OB and 3 females. I'm not able to find any "spilonotus Tanzania", but I am able to find "phenochilus tanzania" One is a Protomelas and the other is a Placidochromis. Both get to be about the same size. Both seem to be "gentle" fish...

This is the "phenochilus tanzania".

1 male moorii will get to be around 10 inches, and the 3 females around 8. (I think)
1 male tanzania will get around 10 inches, and the 1 female I'm not sure.
4 peacocks will get around 6-7 inches.

A couple questions:

1 - would the tanzanias and the morriis get along ok?
2 - this seems WAY overstocked to me. What do you guys think?

I have read many places saying these fish need a 250+ litre tank, and the 75 is 285 L.

I think they will all get along fine. I have noticed that the OB's can have 1 of 2 personalities, mean or peaceful. It should be a beautiful setup with those cichlids.

Let's just say my OB will probably need fish around him that are bigger. That is why I started looking at something other than an all peacock tank
