Hammered by the heat!

My Trans Am lost its transmission last night. That leaves me with my '68 Grand Prix. Black exterior, black vinyl interior, no A/C, 106*F weather this weekend... Oh this is going to be fun.

I don't know what trans your using but I have a couple of saginaws sitting in my garage that I could let go cheap. I bet shipping would be terrible tho.

You have some nice cars. I have a full size blazer that I took the top off in the spring. I take that whenever I can. I bought a ford explorer about a month ago it's the first rig that I have had with working a/c. Once I scrape enough dough together to register and insure it I will be taking that thing everywhere.

Thanks but I don't think it'll be an expensive fix. I spent too much having the tranny built a couple years ago to just replace it anyway.

It's amazing driving anything with A/C when you don't have any cars with it. I want to get the A/C fixed in my trans am, but it runs too hot in the heat as it is. I need to figure out why that's the case too...

Sounds rough. Especially when those classics blow heat out the floor as it is. I feel for ya. At least you'll sweat in style.

It's 107f right now and suppose to get warmer. Our big Oaks are losing their leaves and their all brown.

We've even lost a few branches. I love my big trees and don't like to see them damaged.
The poor little raccoon was moving slow. I'm glad there was water in the birdbath for him. we try to keep water out for all the critters that visit us

While you guys are dieing in the unusual heat, we are setting a very different record in southern Oregon!!!

US National Weather Service Medford Oregon recently published the following:

It's been a long long time, hasn't it?

The high in Medford on August 25, 2010 was a scorching 105F, and that's the last time a high of 100F or higher was recorded here. It is now 699 days later, and this is the second longest stretch of sub-100 temperatures ever recorded in Medford. The longest stretch was 732 days, ending on July 25th, 1958. If this streak continues, the all time record will be tied on August 26th and broken on August 27th.

Well we have been in the high 90's this week so it is a little better. Our county issued a burn ban this week too. I've been using my water from water changes to water one of our trees that is not doing very well. They dug about 5 feet away from it to install city sewer this spring and cut up a bunch of thick roots. We were not happy about it, since we are also in an official drought situation it has been losing leaves like crazy. The only green grass we have is around the kiddie pool and bird bath!

still hot and no rain. X-mas trees will be more expensive in 4 to 5 years because of lack of rain. good thing mines fake and still put together in my basement I just go down there and it feels a lil cooler.

Well, we finally broke 100F. It has been 710 days since we last broke the century mark and we soared up to 107F. That set a record for our area!

Felt much hotter than it should have. Just not used to the heat averaging temps in the low 90s.

A lot of branches have been faling off of trees due to the temps of around 106*F and dry weather. They predict a drop back below 100*F by Wednesday for at least a few days, I hope they're right.
