Half Of Betta's Tail Is Missing?

I have a male veil-tail betta in a 10 gallon with an African Dwarf Frog. I've only had this betta for about three weeks. I noticed later that his dorsal fin had a slight curl to it, but not in the way that would indicate fin rot. Since he didn't have any issues swimming or develop any further symptoms, I kept him... I came home today and now half of his tail is missing. He still isn't exhibiting any other symptoms of fin rot, but he is definitely having more issues swimming. Could the frog have bitten off his tail? Neither have ever displayed any aggression toward each other, but I've never kept African Dwarf Frogs before. Is there any way I can treat/restore it?

Can you post a picture?

Some bettas will bite their own fins and some frogs will see the long fins as food and try eating it. How strong is your filter and is the intake covered?

its possible the african dwarf frog mistook him for food swimming by and ripped it off. probably didn’t do it on purpose. I have two in their own 5 gallon and they’re always trying to eat each others feet, they’re practically blind.

Also, the pictures don't quite show it, but the end looks a little threadbare or frayed, but no black edges, and the tail was full and normal last night.

Clean water and time. His fins should heal just fine.

This is a boy I took in after he was torn to bits by bichirs. He’s about normal now.
