I put spinach in for my otto today my guppies sure like it
I tryed spinach nothing lettuce nothing....I didnt try cuc or zuc but in the past my pleco liked but got rid of him for size issues...but idk just wanted to try some ohter things...any ideas

I throw in an algae wafar and they leave it until it softens and it is gone.

yeah I do that also I threw one in there last night...my guppies started eating about 5 of them wanted it so I threw another in to avoid fight and they ate them right up

That's why you throw it in about an hour after the lights are turned off.

Try putting the spinach or lettuce in the freezer for about 45 minutes, then thaw out and put in the tank. It makes it easier for the Otos to eat.

does it help there colors and what not... are you like long time keeper you seem to know a lot about them ...if you are tell me cuaes then I could ask you questions if need to

I am not a long time keeper, however, I do currently have about a thousand guppies spread over 25 or so different strains. I am sorta specializing in guppies for now.
It does help coloration, as does having a balanced diet at all times. Which includes a healthy dose of protein, such as you get from brine shrimp, bloodworms, water fleas, etc. Greens such as spinach, zucchini, lettuce, collards, algae, etc could fill veggie role. The least processed a food is the better for the fish it is. A straight from the ground green is less processed than a veggie flake, for example.

I guess I'm doing good cuase I give them blood worms and the waffers and spinach...I guess its like ...eating a salad from mcdonalds its a salad...but its from mc donalds...I definetly will be keeping in touch with you
