Hello All...

Guppies and White Clouds are generally used together to cycle a tank. Both are hardy and able to tolerate unstable water conditions. The male Guppies aren't quite as hardy. I wouldn't fret over this tale issue. You can reduce aggressive behavior if this is the cause and keep the tank water a bit more stable by adding a floating plant like Hornwort. This is a fast growing plant and will provide a hiding place for the bullied fish.

Your main task is to monitor the tank water by testing it daily for traces of ammonia and nitrite and changing 25 percent if you have a positive test for either of these forms of nitrogen, to keep the water safe for the fish and to maintain a steady source of nitrogen for the growing bacteria colony.

HI and welcome to Fishlore

It's possible the white clouds could be nipping at your guppy. Generally, when schooling fish are in smaller numbers, they will be aggressive to other fish which is why you want as large a group as possible to minimize that.

However, white clouds are not appropriate for your tank size. Could you look into rehoming them or upgrading to a 20g?

Edit: It will grow back with large water changes 2-3 times a week.

You want at least 6 in a school in a 20 gallon minimum.

If this tank is cycling, that could have something to do with it and not necessarily the white clouds.

What are your water parameters?

still waiting on my test kit but it has only been cycling for 2 weeks now. Will parameter make them mean?

If you mean having an uncycled tank would cause the white clouds to act aggressively? No. I meant that having an uncycled tank with toxic levels of ammonia and/or nitrite could have caused your guppies' death.
