*Parameters - Very Important
Did you cycle your tank before adding fish? It was cycled before adding these fish, it had goldfish in it before they were upgraded.
What do you use to test the water? API Master Kit
What are your parameters? We need to know the exact numbers, not just “fine” or “safe”.
These reading were from last week but they have been stable:
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: >40
pH: 7.4

Feeding
How often do you feed your fish? Twice a day
How much do you feed your fish?
What brand of food do you feed your fish?
Do you feed frozen or freeze-dried foods?
I feed a third to half a block Omega One Freeze Dried Brine Shrimp in the mornings and 8 pellets of Hikari Sinking wafers (Spirulina,Silkworm and Krill) in the evening.
Illness & Symptoms
How long have you had this fish? 2 months
How long ago did you first notice these symptoms? Yesterday
In a few words, can you explain the symptoms? One guppy has a dark red line running down the center of his belly from chin to anus. He also has a slight pink tinge to his scales compared to the others. He seems active and hungry and fins are not torn.
Have you started any treatment for the illness? No
Was your fish physically ill or injured upon purchase? No
How has its behavior and appearance changed, if at all?

Solution
I think it has faded a bit. But I'd still like to know what it is. An injury? Parasite? Should I be buying med?
I also had a trio of guppies in quarantine and two just died. I did not see any white spots of fuzz on them. They just went to the bottom. The last one seems ok. Any suggestions there?
Update: Just removed the dead guppy. It was missing a patch of scales on the center of its belly. It almost looked like the skin was gone too?
