Guppy With No Coloring

hello,
I have 4 male guppy fry that were born on 6-5-18 and have shown no signs of color. I do not know what the father looked like because I got the mother when she was pregnant. The mother died two days after giving birth but she was a Cobra Fancy Guppy. The fry are in an 8 gallon hexagon tank with a filter and a heater. They are fed high quality crushed up flakes and every other week some tiny dried up blood worms. Am I doing something wrong?

Did they just develope the male fin? If so about a week or two they should start to color up. At least that's about when mine do. But sometimes they get a few of their black markings before developing their bits and will color up just a few days after their fin changes.

Can I see a picture? They usually develop colors once you can see if it's a female or male

Sarah73 sorry can't get pictures they are at the bottom swimming around like crazy and my tank is an older plastic tank with scratches, sorry I can try in the morning and see if they come out clear?

Sarah73 but I can clearly see the male analfin on all of them, if that matters.

Hmm. Has it been a month or two? What's the temp? Some grow faster with color as the temp is higher

Sarah73 It has been a month and two days. The temperature is set to 77 Fahrenheit.

That is weird. If it doesn't show in 10-20 more days then that means likely they are gonna be dull.

Interesting, okay. The mother was a green cobra, like I said I did't have the father but all the guppies at the Petstore had VIBRANT colors. Thank you though

You still have a bit to go before finding out for sure so they could end up vibrant.

It doesn't have to be that the current color dullness is coming from the father. At this point it's also onknown what the genetics of the mother is. This fry can still take some time to color up or as already been mentioned before staying dull in color.

Overhere a picture of two males (brothers in this case). The overgrown male is a late male which hardly shows some coloring in comparison to his normal sized brother. These are Surinam green wild guppies btw...

Coloration with some of mine started to come within a month. Darker colors will come up first and then the lighter ones. So colors like yellow and orange won't come til later. My second batch of this year took about 2 months to get their color because they're all orange in color. While the first batch of this month took one month cuz they had more darker colors. But even then full coloration is a very long process. First batch was born about four months ago and they just finished gaining color. But you can kind of speed the process up by feeding them live baby brine shrimp

Okay thanks! they are almost 2 months and 2 of them have black spots near the end of their tail and 2 of them might be pregnant I wanted to separate male from female and let them color up and then breed the best looking male with the 2 females but I was to late

Then yeah they should be gaining the rest of their color soon. Feeding live food will definitely speed it up

Okay so I’ve been feeding them brine shrimp and SOMETIMES bloodworms and I see one of the females are a cobra!!!! I’m so excited! It also looks like the 1 male has the start of cobra on him to.
Oh yes I only have one male and three girls but I think 2 of the girls might be pregnant. They also don’t have names yet
