ok, so my pregnant guppy should have popped by now. Poor girl is HUGE and has been having basically non stop co reactions for 4 days. Today is the first time she has ate during these contractions, but she looks like she’s having a seizure non stop. She is in her own 10 gallon tank for the birthing process (she’s been in there a little over a week) when should I expect fry, or what can I do to help this poor girl? She looks so miserable!!! This is my first time owning guppies, and I have only had them about 3 weeks...

she looks normal in the picture, however she may have a little stress,is there enough hiding place in the tank? you can add a few plants to make her comfortable
have you check the water parameters?
if everything alright just give her a couple of days she should be alright, she gonna have a lot of babies

Everything is good, and tons of hiding spots, both on the bottom, and the top of the tank. Thank you for your feedback. Like I said, I’m very new to all this, especially the baby part, so I got worried with her shaking as violently as she is.. she’s in a quiet area of the house as well

sometimes female guppies that have a lot of fry with them act a bit strange, its normal however, all u can do is make her comfortable so she can give birth easily

As long as she has plenty of hiding places and good water quality don’t worry. She’ll drop them when she’s ready and leaving the lights off could help her with stress and feeling more secure. Hovering around the tank constantly checking in on her could also make her nervous so try to leave her alone as much as you can. Good luck with the fry when they arrive

In that picture, she looks big...but not really huge. It also looks as though her belly isn't swollen quite as far to the rear as normally would be expected, but again that could be just the angle in the one pic. Seems way too soon to be worried.

In my opinion, the best thing you can do for her is...become more patient!

What is your water parameters? Something that is worrying me is you're talking about her violently shaking. I don't think I've ever seen a guppy violently shake due to labor.

Her gravid spot also doesn't look that dark to me making me think she's a while from birth regardless.

Can you get a video of the shaking? What exactly are your water parameters--Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates? The shaking sounds more like some other problem. I have never seen guppys actually have discernable contractions either. The fry typically just squirt out one or more at a time.
