HI again,

One of my female guppies is quite pregnant and I'm starting to worry a little because she still hasn't given birth. I bought her pregnant, so I can't give the exact amount of days, but for the duration I've had her, she is atleast 28 days pregnant.

She is much larger than my other females, and her gravid spot is getting wider and wider. Almost all of my guppies in the past have given birth between the 22-26 day mark. Also, water parameters are fine, and are not fluctuating.

Any idea as to what might be causing issues for her?

Thanks

She might be stressed and that would cause her not to give birth

Some females will hold out to 35 days or longer, I have a female that holds out consistently between 30-35 days each birth.

I just tested my water again and everything seems to be fine except the pH...It's a little higher than normal, and is roughly 8.0. Do you think this could maybe be a reason she doesn't want to give birth?

From what I've read guppies are pretty adaptable with PH so long as it is constant.

If they have been living in it this long already it is not going to affect them unless it swings. If she has a comfortable place to give birth, aka a hiding place, she will. Give her time, she can't hold them in forever.

Good news, I found 5 little fry hanging around my cabomba when going to feed the tank. Not sure if they were hers or not since I have two pregnant females. Both still look pretty pregnant so maybe they're just dropping a few as they go. Either way, it was a good birthday present to find

Hopefully she drops the rest over the day as the rest of a birthday present.

I think mine absorbed the rest of her babies because it's been 35 days

If that's true, I'm sorry to hear...
