Guppy Bully! Help!

I just purchased 3 guppies and 2 cory catfish yesterday. They are in a 10 gallon tank. One guppy chases a smaller guppy with a really torn tail (he came that way too) I can see the guppy taking chunks out of the smaller guppy's tail. Poor Dory is too slow to swim away. What should I do?

He's probably trying to mate with him - are they all male? Chasing behaviour can be normal, for some species having lots of decor so they have places to hide / without direct line of sight can be helpful. Lovely fish by the way!

Thank you for your reply. They are all males. Thanks

I was wondering if I should take the bullied fish out so he can regrow his tail. Any opinions on this?

I'm new to the hobby, and male guppies bullying each other has been a problem with my stocking plan.

I bought 3, and one emediately starting chasing another none stop. I gave away the bully and the victim started attacking the third, so I gave one of them away too.

Good luck. I think guppies are high energy fish that are into a pecking order.

I've read of people moving the bully to a quarantine tank for a while so the other fish establish territory and the tough guy doesn't feel like he owns the place.

I've never tried this.

Ah. I was going to try remove the bullied fish so his tail can regrow

I just removed the bullying fish out into quarantine tank. Anyone know how long I should keep him in there?

Alright! I separated the bully from others for about 15-20 minutes and put him back. They are getting along great now! When I came to check on them after a while they were all riding the filter current together ❤. Thank you all for your help.
