Guppy agression question

So I rescued a teenager feeder guppy male from a feeder tank at my lfs. He has been in my tetra tank for a couple of weeks now, and has been getting more and more agressive. First I thought he was freaking out the tetras, but then I put a male platy in there (my danio tank is having ammonia highs) and the guppy spent the last three days chasing the platy till he was hiding and shivering in the corner! Suddenly my racy and friendly platy boy named Spike is being bullied by a feeder guppy of all things?

So, the feeder guppy is now racing around with the danios. I figure at least they are super fast fish and can and might even enjoy outrunning him. I am not going to risk my tetra tank on a 25 cent feeder guppy. Grrr. Inside of half an hour the tetras are schooling better and life there seems calmer. The tetra tank is my oldest and established tank ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 2-5ish ph 7.

So, aggression problems in guppies? I looked and they seem to be always described as so peaceful. Would he be happier in with more guppies? I hadn't planned to breed them so wasn't planning on more, though the danio tank isn't overstocked. Any thoughts?

strange!! never seen such behavior !!! guppies r very peaceful!! r u sure it's a guppy? guppies r not schooling fish and they r not fin nippers!! they can live alone. sometimes males chase females but that's normal, if u don't want fries u can add 2 more male guppies and see if his behavior changes or not.

Well, I am certain it is a guppy, he looks very much like a juvenile this:

The guppy wasn't schooling with the tetras, it was more of a question of the tetras not schooling while the guppy was in their tank. lol.

In with the Danios, the guppy seems fine, it is like he is trying to learn how to swim faster so he can go pester the Danios! I worry a bit though, because the Platy will eventually go back in that tank. It is jsut odd to hav such an aggressive solo baby guppy!

It looks like a feeder guppy. Although it looks like a baby, it could be that it's an adult since feeders are smaller than fancy guppies.
