Guppies Died Super Unexpectedly. Help Please!

Hi,

I am so sad, two days ago one of my three guppies I've had happily for about 3 months now, basically stopped swimming and layed down on the gravel substrate and died slowly. The next day I saw another one of my guppies doing the exact same and got so worried. I fed them, as I do about once a day, and the one that was "laying down" ate some food so I felt better. In the morning I found him dead.

I have one last guppy and I tested my water. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and 10 nitrates. This seems well within fine parameters? I'm super upset and confused. Could I have done anything different? What happened??

Thanks.

Did they have any visible signs of parasites? Even something as simple as bloated or skinny?

The peramiters indicate a fully cycled tank. Was anything new added to the tank in the last week or so? Fish, plants, decor?

SM1199 No, they looked healthy and we're swimming around quite normally. The first one to go was skittish and would be the first to hide if my hand went into the tank and spent a lot of time in the decorations hiding. But the second guppy to go was very active and it was basically overnight that it became so lethargic.

Dave125g Nope, the only thing was about two weeks agobI added a second Nerite snail and it seemed to have babies because there are white little dots all over my drftwoodr but I was told they wouldn't affect the fish or even hatch because they need brackish water.

Yea nirite snails put eggs everywhere Lol. Is this tank heated and at what temperature?
Snails should be quarantined just like a new fish. They can introduce parasites and diseases to the tank also.

They can? I haven't heard of snails carrying diseases.

Parasites mostly. It doesn't affect the snail, but they can carry them. Especially if collected from the wild. Plants can too.

Not saying that's what happened here, but it is possible.
