(gsp Green Spotted Puffer) Not Eating (is This Overgrown Theeth Of Somthing Else)

I have 2 green spotted puffers and one of them is not eating (the smaller one).
Is this because of the bigger ones presents or what I'm feeding them? (blood worms in the morning and krill in the afternoon) I do also add a clam every once and a while. They where just added 4 days ago and they where eating for the first 3 days. but now the smaller ones not eating.

 

What are your water parameters? How often do you do partial water changes? Puffers are really sensitive to anything but the most pristine water.

 

I do a test every week and for all three it’s pretty low. Never had a problem with it.

I just got them so maybe the pet stores water is bad.

Sorry to hear that. You didn't mention they were new fish. Fish get stressed (and sometimes injured) whenever they're moved. It may just be one of those things.

 

My guess would be the fish store did not wear the tooth down enough before you bought it. To ensure the same thing doesn't happen again I reccomend setting up a 5 gallon tank to just breed snails. Once you get a couple hundred you should never have to worry about running out and can feed them 10+ every couple days which should be enough grinding on their teeth. Hope that helps!

Also make sure the tank is 30g+ fish won't eat if depressed because they can't stretch their legs

 

Thanks, I do have a 5 gallon but the snails are not big enough. 1 more month.
