I'm not sure what this is, it just kind of popped up overnight and it hasn't gone away. He's in a 10 gallon tank, filtered and heated, and the parameters are fine.
He never scratched himself on any decorations in the tank or anything, it just happened. He's acting perfectly normal, though. He eats fine, his poop looks normal (sorry if tmi), he's always really happy to see someone walk in the room, and he still wants to do his tricks when he sees me.

Looks like a tumor- it's extremely common in bettas. You'll need to make sure his water is extra clean so it doesn't get infected. You may want to give him an aquarium salt bath once or twice a week to help keep it clean while it heals.
