Growing Roots, Should I Trim And Plant?

My water wisteria (I think?) has become over grown and has grown these roots off to the side. Do I just cut it and plant it on it’s side? Where should I cut it? It’s grown from trimmings stuck straight into the ground without roots grown, and have only been in there since the end of June.

That’s what every stem plant does.

So.... yes plant it on it’s side?

Oh, no just plant it straight into the substrate. You trim it right above the nodes and remove a few of the leaves before you bury it.

Agreed, cut if off and let it float. Forms a nice attractive mat which fish like to hide in.
