My boyfriend is gonna come home tonight and ask me why in the world I have a carrot shoved into the feeder opening of the lid of my betta tank.

i've never tried a whole carrot, but i've tried growing the tops in shallow tray of water, the leaves would grow very quickly for the first week, then the tops would start rotting away.

If it starts rotting I’ll just plant it in dirt. I think they are good for temporary nitrate removal though since they grow so fast.
