Grindal Worm Package Arrive But Smells Bad?

HI All,

Its the first time i'm going to try and culture some grindal worms for my fish.

I recently bought some on ebay and they arrived today.

The problem is they smell awful i'm not saying they will smell like roses but there doesn't seem to be any movement within the package.

Should I chuck them and try find another source or do you think they will be alright to try and culture?

Do you see any worms? What does it smell like - and what did it come in with?

Mine smelt a little off, but once it aired it stopped smelling - and the worms came out in numbers.

I can see the worms but none are active or moving . By the looks of it just the substrate or soil they have been in.

Hard to say the smell its a really harsh off putting smell I know that doesn't help but almost like rotting.

That happened to me, they started coming out in a couple of days - and the eggs also hatched!

I would message the seller regardless and tell them about it, but I wouldn't throw away, but remember the soil will also contain some eggs so don't throw it away.

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for your advice . I contacted the seller. He said I should of received them days ago and is going to send out another batch . Thank you.
