Green tiger barb tried to bite me

I was doing my water change last night (fighting nitrites), and I was moving the airstone ornament. I thought I had dislodged a plant and it was scratching me. I looked down and to my surprise the smallest fish, a green tiger barb was trying to nibble on my arm. I cut their food back because of the nitrites.. do you think I may have cut it back too far.lol

Well I mean, Tigers are supposed "man-eaters" maybe your barb was trying to get in touch with it's inner ... feline?

 

They are so funny, whenever I go next to the tank they all come to the top. The first time my husband saw me feed them, he said I better be careful or I'd come out with a nub. At least the cats won't get blamed if I turn up in pieces!

Maybe they are talking to the cats and planning my demise. They better not, my husband is under the impression that fish are easy and cheap to keep.

 

My fish nibble on me all the time. It's normal.

 

My shrimp will come and clean my arm for me.

 

My fish and shrimp nibble on my hands and fingers all the time. It's so adorable. :3

 

My guppies used to nibble my fingers before I sold them, my discus suck my fingers but... That is hiring either brine shrimp or beefheart feedings so that might be cheating hehe

My weather loachea will occasionally swim around my fingers. Now my tiger oscar will occasionally take a bite and my green terror can draw blood

 

I have a freckle on my forearm and its like a bullseye with my tigers and male bettas. I don't know who pinches more!

 

Well...I'm glad my fish don't feel like tasting me...but at least they let me pet them...lol

 

ooooh same thing happened to me but it was 10 barbs that tried to eat my hand and also Raibowfish ramming their heads on my hand... which is weird. I always thought rainbow fish are peaceful
