I just read something interesting..... on another forum about algae bloom. "An algae bloom will settle itself given time because the excess algae will die off, but if you are doing "too much" cleaning (like 100% water change along with a filter clean and a gravel clean), then their will be enough algae in the water to start the cycle again. " You could always try a uv sterilizer. Don't know if that helps.....

Try one of these:

Amazon.com : COODIA Internal Green Water Killer Filter Aquarium Tank U-V Light Submersible Disinfection Pump : Pet Supplies

Or

Amazon.com : AA Aquarium Green Killing Machine 3 Watt | Internal UV Sterilizer System with Power Head | Kills Algae, Bacteria, and Waterborne Pathogens | Easy, Submersible Installation : Pet Care Products : Pet Supplies

I used the second one on my tank for just a week and haven't had any green algae since

Providing your tank is cycled and established. you can do some deep gravel vacs and good size WC's. I had a 29 outside that I was battleing till I started do deeper cleaning and it literally cleared up within a week. That's another thought. Also overfeeding and leftover foods will cause it. What is your current substrate and what is your weekly WC%

I love my Green Killing Machines! I've used them for bacteria bloom when I've been too impatient to wait for it to clear naturally!

If it is algae then it will kill it.
