Green Stuff Growing On Tank

I have a ten gallon tank. It’s been running for two months.
Fish:
4 male guppies
1 black Mystery Snail
1 Nerite Snail
4 ghost shrimp
Starting last week we had a couple of weird test strips (I am getting liquid tests soon!) and We noticed some green splotches growing on everything in the tank. Everyone was happy, and the numbers and green stuff went away after we did the 25% water change a week ago. It’s been one week to the day and there is some green stuff growing on the tank again.

Dumb question, but what is this? Is it a sign that my tank is unhealthy? We planned on a water change today, but I’m worried

Here’s the best picture I can get of what I’m talking about. Plus some photobombing Gups. Lol

that is because of over feeding..that is algae for sure..its mean your water full with unused nutrient..by changing water it will reduce the unused stuff..but how about to overcome them..weekly 25%water chance, don't over feed and try use floating water plant something like that..Google it..

Algae is a sign of a healthy aquarium. The problem is when too much grows and it becomes a nuisance. The battle with algae will be an ongoing one. You want the algae growing as it will absorb toxins, but too much and it becomes unsightly. It's a balancing act. That's why many people go with algae-eating fish, snails, etc. Another way of reducing algae is to add lots of live plants that compete for the nutrients. Also consider the length of time the tank has lights on during the day. Adjusting the lighting can help control algae.

Overfeeding can contribute to excessive algae growth.

Personally, I use snails and plecos to help control algae in my tanks. When it starts building up, I use a razor blade to scrap the glass. I just bought some things that look like magic erasers that are supposed to be good for cleaning algae but I haven't tried them yet.

The bottom line is that algae is a good thing, but it can be annoying if it builds up. It's something you'll have to constantly deal with as long as you have an aquarium.

Can we put some type of snail or fish to clean the algae? I’m glad to hear we aren’t doing something wrong to cause it!
My snails don’t really mess with algae

You're probably running the lights too long or have it near a window. Algae consumes things that are bad for your fish (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates) and produces CO2, which is very healthy for your aquarium. Some people find it unsightly, I personally love it. I only clean it off my front glass when I can't see through it any longer. When doing a water change, just use a razor blade to scrape it off. No big deal.
