Green Spot Under White Film On Mopani

I have had a piece of Mopani in my tank for about 3 weeks now. I soaked it for a few days and boiled it before putting it into the tank. I knew that a white film would most likely appear on the piece (and it did). I left it alone for the most part, but during my water change last week, some got caught in my siphon and I ended up siphoning a lot of it off, as it was very stringy. Now, there is still a small layer of the white film, but I have noticed a green spot underneath. Any ideas on what it is? Is there anything I need to do to take care of it?
