I am looking for a schooling fish to put with German Blue Rams in a 55 Gal. Tank. I was advised not to look into Neon Tetras due to the higher temp. range required for German Blue Rams. I could not find that much on the Green Fire Tetra , but some sites suggested it can tolerate higher temps than the Neon tetra. I know the alternative option would be cardinal Tetra, but am wondering if Green Fire Tetras would be comfortable around 84 Degrees as well.

    Thanks in advance.

I think they could be okay, but it is better if you can at least have it at 82°. I know rams prefer very warm water, but I think they should be able to do okay at 82° as well, which is within normal tropical temperatures.
