Gravel Cap.

    Ok, take 2. Can I cap dirt with gravel for a 1.5g walstad shrimp/snail tank?

    Yes you can. Use a fine type.

    Ok. I’ll see what I can find. I’ve tried (and succeeded) in caping with sand but the last two nerite snails I had did NOT like the sand.

    Look for a gravel that is between 2-5mm in diameter for best results. Sand can compact over time and cause problems for plant roots, larger gravel will allow too much of the soil to leech out and will dirty your water.
