Is it common for gouramis to cross breed? I was thinking about it this morning watching my golden harass my pearl who I think may be female. I understand there are aggression issues, but this looks to be more like a puppy love thing goin on.

Is this bad if they try to breed? Will I get a cool golden pearl hybrid? Just curious. There is also an opaline with them but he is twice the size and doesn't bother either of them.

It is not common for Gourami's of different species to crossbreed....they may not even be able to or would have unfertile eggs. Different species may not even be attracted to eachother. (I guess to help explain....look at all the different species of birds...they don't cross breed.) Within a species there is lots of hybridizations and color morphs....as in all the different Dwarf GouramI types.
