Gourami tank or no?

Hi everyone,
I have had a female gold gourami for some time now. I got it when it was 2" and now it's roughly 4.5." I added two dwarf gouramis (1 flame and 1 powder blue) into the tank with it thinking the flame was female. Turns out that at the LFS he was stretching his dorsal fin so that it looked round, he was really a boy the whole time! This explained why he was the only gourami getting picked on, as the powder blue had established his dominance and negotiated terms with the gold gourami. So I gave the flame to a friend and am wondering what to get as a replacement. I'd like another gourami but I don't want to disrupt up the peace in the tank ATM. Should I get another gourami? Any other recommendations would be appreciated. Keep in mind that it has to be serpae tetra proof.
Ph: 7.5
Temp: 25-27 C
Ammonia and Nitrites 0
Nitrate: 20

Are there any specific types of gourami anyone would recommend?

Hi, I would suggest not in a tank this small. Personally I wouldn't keep a Three Spot in one either. They benefit from being kept in a group and a group ideally needs 4ft at the minimum due to aggressive bouts.
I think you're getting lucky at the moment, both Three Spots and Dwarfs can be quite aggressive and don't usually mix well.

Thanks for the reply,
I am quite lucky indeed! If I shouldn't add any more gouramis, what do you think I should add (if anything at all)? I would like some more bottom dwellers so any recommendations there would be appreciated, but otherwise, any peaceful dwarf cichlids, etc that would work I'd be interested to know about.

I would also say no to the 3 spot. I have 2 in my 75 gallon and one has claimed the entire right side of tank as his. He is going to be rehomed to the display tank at my LFS. Beautiful fish. Pearl and Honey Gouramis are chill

Thanks for the input, but once again - what other fish could I put in instead?

P.S Beautiful looking fish HitzBlack!
Just going to briefly change the 'gourami' topic - I've been doing some research on the rainbow shark (one of my favourite types of fish), and found very conflicting information on tank size. I had originally thought nothing less than a 55 gallon, but some sources seem to say upwards of a 29 gallon is fine and I felt a little flicker of hope that I might be able to keep one. So, are you going to dash my hopes (please do so if I can't) or is it a possibility?
The other fish I was thinking about was a group of 5 glass catfish, I just don't know if they're serpae proof.

Personally I wouldn't with a Rainbow Shark, though I've never kept one but they do seem quite territorial and better off in larger tanks. In your aquarium details it says you have a SAE? If that is the case I would say definitely no, since they are in the same family.

Never kept Serpae but JettsPapa seems to do well with them and Gourami without them bothering other fish. I've never kept Asian Glass Cats but I do have African Glass Cats, which I would wholeheartedly recommend.
