Gourami Only Eats Flakes

My opaline gourami in a 36 gallon tank will only eat flakes. He will eat a few frozen bloodworms occasionally but he doesn’t treat anything else. I tried giving him pellets, frozen brine shrimp, dried tubifex worms, wafers, and sinking pellets but he doesn’t eat them. I tried putting all of them in garlic guard but he still only eats flakes and bloodworms. How do I get him to eat other food

Hey I do not like broccoli.

If it is a quality flake he should be fine.

You could try live food.

You can try mixing his other foods with the flakes. Try to make them look as close to the flakes as as you can. Or you can also fast him so that he's hungry and his only option is to eat other foods.

It might be characteristic. My betta also doesn't attack even to fries and doesn't eat live food but it eats any kind of pellet or flakes etc.Maybe your gourami is just weird that is all )

Should I try to feed it some food for herbivores because it’s only eating carnivore food now?

What kind of gourami do you have? My thicklips eat anything and everything. They pick algae off of plants, and a favorite of theirs is ghost shrimp. Maybe some small ones added to the tank might help? They enjoy chasing and catching them, I think. When I feed frozen I also add a tad bit of garlic juice to the mix. I've heard somewhere that along with the health benefits, the fish actually like the taste of it.. Weather it's true or not, I'm not sure, but it definitely can't hurt.

If he still won't eat anything else I would juat switch to a super high quality flake food, and they should be fine.

I said in the first post opaline gourami. I’ll try buying a few ghost shrimp for it to eat.
