Gourami Fish Pearly colour

I have a gourami fish and also in my tank are 11 other smaller fish. We only had him and two other fish for about 5 months before we bought the rest and then he was happily swimming up and down, coming to the tank wall when I came near. Now after we added the new fish he is constantly swimming in the corner like his scared. Sometimes I see him swimming out the corner to feed but then he goes back to his corner again, should I be worried, what's up with my Gourami?

My gourami did that when I had my tank over stocked with more bullies n there. The puffer and the tiger barbs were always nipping at the fins of his. So either he is scared or the other fish are bothering it. Maybe someone with more experience can help as I am a beginner myself. But now he swims around a lot
More that the barbs and the puffer are gone

What is the tank size and what are the exact other fish and what species is the gourami. All of these things must be known. If you don't know then post a picture.

HI Thank you I definitely need help guys. The tank was my husband's, but he never had time to take care of them so I adopted them all. I couldn't load the picture so here are the species and the size of the tank, hope this is enough detail:
3 Tetra
1 Tiger Barb
1 Silver Dollar
2 Albino Rainbow Sharks
1 Chinese Algae eater
1 Pleco Algae eater
1 Gourami Trichogaster microlepis
2 Yasuhikotakia modesta (Blue Botia)
1 Melanochromis Johannil Cichlids

Tank size:
92cm by 35cm
About 10litres

um, you may just want to return everything..or rehome it. That tank isn't big enough for 1 fish.

Um... 92cm is nearly a meter, so that's a 3-foot tank.

9.2cm, perhaps? Or else that tank is much bigger than 10 liters.

if it is 3 ft tank, that is probably closer to 30 gal tank, right? which is why the fish are doing fine at the moment. Nice variety in there!

If its a 30, then only the tiger barbs, MAYBE the pleco and the gourami would still fit. All those fish still get HUGE. Most of them I see are schooling fish and need 6+ of their own kind.

My 30 gal is 92cmx42cmx32cm, so I think a 1 got left off of the volume, it's more like 110 liters.

Wow I almost thought I'm killing my new fish. 30 gal tank, okay, it seems normal. Do I need to take out some of those fish then? Especially if they are fish that are still going to get big. I know the 1 Albino Rainbow Shark is very territorial and likes to nip the other fish's fins or chase them around. The other Albino Rainbow Shark is very small compared the to aggressive one but they are the same age.

The smaller ones not getting food/getting bullied, they both need to go either way. The silver dollar as well, it will get too big for there to be a proper school in the 30.
The tiger is a VERY aggressive schoolin fish, having it will limit your stock. The moon light gourami is a very sensitive species, not to be kept with the tigers. The cichlids have no purpose being in there. Blue botia get 5-8" long. The pleco will need a ID on it, then we can go from there.

So the Moon light gourami and the tiger are the only for sure things you can have in there, they are not however, compatible. This is one heck of a mess. Also, moon light gourami are pearly, as their name describes(answering your original question)

Does anybody want my Melanochromis Johannil Cichlids, he ate my tetra

I had to take out the Tiger Barb and the 1 Albino Rainbow Shark before I discovered that he is the cannibal.

Are Moonlight Gourami, Pleco Algae eater, Chinese Algae eater, Blue Botia Loach and Albino Rainbow Shark fish compatible with Guppies? I want a new fish tank with new colorful fish but want to keep as many of my current fish as possible. I would prefer schooling fish with 6 of the same species.

Guppies are not schooling fish - they're social, but won't travel as a tight group like schooling fish do.

Would you be purchasing a larger tank? All of those fish would probably not fit in a 30 gallon.

Just to make sure, does your gourami look like this guy?

I had a Moonlight in a community tank with a bunch of colored fish, but I didn't have anything like the algae eaters and the sharks in there. He was happy in there, I had a 55 gallon tank. Your Chinese algae eater is going to get too big. Your pleco might, depending on his species. What do you guys think about cardinal or neon tetras for color, assuming she rehomes the CAE? They're small but fast and like the upper levels of the tank, and school.

Wow Cardinal fish are really pretty! But they are marine tank fishies. I can't get a bigger tank, that's why I need to take out a few fish.
I looked at the types of Silver dollar fish, and the one I have is not a Silver Dollar. I don't know what species he is. He is silver, has a turquoise neon stripe on his sides with orange tail and a black blotch between his body and his tail.
Yes, my Gourami looks like yours, when I took out the Tiger barb and one Albino Rainbow shark he already swam around more, so I'm glad about that. Now its just the Cichlids that needs to go.
Wouldn't the CAE eat the neon tetras when he gets bigger?

CAE will just be a pain as he gets bigger. He will become aggressive and large.

Cardinal Tetras, not Cardinal Fish. They look like neon tetras but I think they are a bit more vibrant.

My gourami keeps jumping out the water. When I walk closer to feed them its like he gets a heart attack. He swims up and down, swims right against the tank wall head-on like he's scared of me, any advise? We had to get rid of the cichlids, the tiger barb and the one albino shark, now they are so peaceful, except for my gourami... in exchange for those three I got a new fish, I don't know what he is, half his body is orange and the front half is silver, he has the tentacles like a gourami as well.

Lol yeh, Cardinal Tetras, they are really pretty and colorful. I looked at a few pet shops in our area but they don't have any nice ones.

As for your fish jumping, try coming up at tank level, if you are above it and it is scared, it might think you are a bird swooping too eat it, or some other type of predator. If you want guppies and small colorful fish, seems to me everything but the jumper should go. If your willing to spend the money, there are plenty of places you can get a lot of different colorful small fish online. I'd recommend one to ya but I doubt its cool to post links like that in the forum. I really like the way celestial pearl danios look. If you buy even 3 guppies, be prepared for 1000 of them.
