I've looked at pythons, I don't understand how to add the dechlorinator if the water comes directly from the tap.

Yes, you add the declorinator directly to the aquarium, then add the water. Prime has an instruction on the back to, if adding untreated water to the aquarium, dose for the volume of the AQUARIUM, not the volume of water being added.
