Got a couple rcs today!

These are my new babies, the female is fully grown and very colorful now that shes settled in and the male (who looked like a ghost shrimp for a while!)has more color also, although you can't see it well his back has spots of red on his back. His name is Dalmatian because it was so fitting. I have 12 other shrimp coming within 7-9 days (2 once shipped) and I already love them. Been wanting a dedicated fish tank for rcs for some time and now I have it yay! I'll post pics of the shrimp and tank once I get them and of the tank once I finish it, this tank is temp for now. So excited!

Okay update, I have the aquarium almost complete, I am getting the stand today and the shrimp should arrive in less than a week if weather permits (the person I'm getting them from won't ship unless the weather is mild enough since we get over 100 degrees here on hot days) and I have the tank set up. I still need to gey a sponge for over the I take of my HOB. But other than that once my Java moss gets here I will attach it to the big rock, I only decided on that because the rock was on sale for 50 cents and I am going to go to petsmart and get some Marimo Moss balls soon. Cant wait!

 

Second update* Been a while since I updated because I've been busy, found water leaking out of my tank once I got it all set up so I have been stripping off all the sealant and I will have to re-do it. Top-Fin is entirely useless about their mistake and told me it was probably something I did. My 2 other aquariums beg to differ on that. The shrimp are on schedule though and should be here in 3 days approximately. Lucky I have a second tank with no predators! Hopefully I will have everything put back together soon and my rcs can get in their permanent home.

Update 3* Got the shrimp I ordered today, in my temp tank for now, got some amazing looking shrimp for being so stressed. I got a picture of some however they are constantly moving so I can't get good pics of most lol! And in one of the pics you may see a shrimp in the filter but you don't have to worry about her, I watched her walk into by herself and if she is still there tomorrow morning I'll get her out. Just a sponge filter so it doesn't have a strong pull. and I got all the sealant stripped out finally. Now to reseal it. Lots of work but it will be worth it!

Sorry it took so long to update! My phone broke and I couldnt figure out how to use fishlore without the app! Got the tank set up and everything however the ahrmip aremt in it yet, got some pre seeded filter media in it to speed it along. Cant take a pic yet because My phone won't be here until tomorrow. Sorry about it being such a long break! Lot of stuff going on lately! Will post a pic tomorrow. Also does anyone have any tips for getting rcs out of a tank? The temp tank they're in is round which I imagine is much harder to get them out of...

 

Got my tank mostly done, I want to get a marimo moss ball and some other plant (not sure what yet, maybe banana plant) to give the baby shrimp a better chance at living, since I do have a small guppy in with them.

Yeah I hard a hard time with only a couple, I figured it was going to be ridiculous because I've seen my LFS have some wildly bolt around where it took a few minutes just to get a couple. Luckily they pretty much just went in the net for me lol
