What is a good low light floating plant. I've got a 29 gallon tank with a 20w GE plant & aquarium florescent bulb, which I bought a Walmart. My hood only has one outlet. I've currently have 1 java fern & 2 hornwort in the tank. They seem to be holding their own, but not growing.:;jaws

Duckweed is a good low light floating plant & not half as hard to keep under control or remove as most people seem to believe. It's much easier to control & remove than Riccia, which may also work for you though it generally needs more light than Duckweed does. Water Lettuce (Pistia Stratiotes) would be another good choice. For something different you can wrap Java Moss around cork & leave it to float around the tank.
