moving up to a 20 gallon with five glofish. once cycling is complete thinking of adding a compitable bottom dweller and a snail maybe. want to keep bioload low but would like to choose something that plays nicely with others. one person suggested a smaller gourami species or a loach of some kind. ideas?

You could go with dwarf loaches (4) or kuhli loaches (4) if you wanted to do loaches. Keep in mind that loaches are social creatures (mostly) and you generally can't keep just A loach, you need to have a group for them to be happy and active.

I'm not a fan of dwarf gouramis (too much attitude for me...but I like bettas...go figure), but honey gouramis and sparkling gouramis are cute and don't add much bioload. I've heard that sparkling gouramis do best in trios, though.

Just remember that glofish are basically genetically modified danios, so they might get a little crazy and nippy with more space. Plan accordingly. This might mean upping your school of glofish.
