I received MTS and guppy grass for him today.
Very professionally packed and no issues.

Thanks again!

Hahaha, so it's safe to assume you wanted the MTS

I have not added any from outside sources in about 5 years.
So I figured I need to stir the genetic pot, as you will.

hmmmm, I haven't added any new genes. All the snails in all my tanks came from the 50 some I got from petsmart. Just like the sea grass, I guess once the errors in copying manifest themselves there would be a drop in the population.

Thank you, sir!

I completely understand about the genetic pot. I actually have 20 new Red Cherry Shrimp coming in to help diversify my RCS's genetic pool. Wouldn't want shrimp with eight eyes, after all!

yes, but the snails aren't breeding with other snails.....

Um, I don't understand the above post.
There are gametes from each individual involved with each new snail.

MTS reproduce by parthenogenesis.

They CAN reproduce that way, but they also can reproduce by sexual reproduction.
Otherwise the species would not have two sexes.

As asexual breeders, each specimen contains both sexual reproductive organs. Where did you see that there are two sexes?

Should not asexual breeders be hermaphrodites?

Zeez, I apologize that a post of thanks to you has turned into this.

I think he means he's apologizing that this thread went off topic when it was supposed to thank me.

No problem, Dino! These things happen.

ya, thanks ZeeZ, (I'm piggy backing off Dino,) shrimp got to me in great condition! And I freaking love the MTS!!! I also have ordered some more shrimp from another guy to spread the genetics out a little bit. If you ever end up with an overload again, please let me know. It was wonderful working with you!

No, that's not what I was referring to. The apology post hadn't been posted at the time I was responding.

I'm sorry the thread went off topic as well. When I heard this new information about trumpet snails reproducing sexually versus asexually, I naturally wanted to know more.
