Goldfish with red spot/lump

Hi all,

My goldfish has developed a big red spot on his side, with something white poking out of it. I've checked online but can't find anything defintive on what it is or how to treat it. Dont think it's an anchorworm. Any help would be much appreciated to help get the wee guy back on top form... doesn't seem to be any change in behaviour. Here are a couple of pics to help identfy the issue.

I think the issue might be an oozing Carp Pox blister. Carp Pox is somewhat like a Gold Fish cold sore. Not usually fatal, just ugly.

I'd swab it with methylene blue or hydrogen peroxide
