Goldfish With Ich

Thanks in your experience how fast do ich take to disapear (atleast the visible white spots symptoms) when using melachite green?
3-4 days. I go a full week just to be extra certain they’re gone. Some say do it for 2 weeks, but knowing the life cycle of ich, that wouldn’t make sense.

Thank you, going to report in this thread if I see any progress.

Here is a quick update, it looks a little bit worse (maybe a couple dots more) when I used melachite green the green color in the water was a lot stronger, but with paraguard the green color is almost unnoticeable so I don't know if it is storng enough. Here are some photos and a video

Yeah, that happens: things can appear worse before getting better. I wouldn’t be too concerned. Give it a couple more days, up to a full week. The fish looks very healthy. I think things will turn out okay.

I can’t say anything about Paraguard, as I never used it. As long as it’s a ich med, you should be okay. In fact, I’m pretty sure many ant-ich medications contain malachite green.

Hi, tell me what do you think. I think is looking a lot better, just did a water change and cleaned really good the bottom. Here arek some pics and a video.
Also I bought New Life Spectrum Ick Shield 1mm Sinking pellets I have been feeding all my goldfish and this new one in quarantine with new life spectrum and I like it and seems they love it too, do you know if it is good or how it works and I can give that food while medicating? It says it works disrupting the trophont of the ich. But I don't know if it could be dangerous while medicating.

I definitely see an improvement!
I’m unfamiliar with this product of NLS. If it’s simply the extra garlic in the ingredient, then I’m dubious on the actual efficacy against ich and other parasites. That’s just my opinion. And honestly, I’m not a fan of the brand for goldfish: it has too much protein and fat. I feed my goldfish almost strictly Hikari. I will even say Tetra is better than NLS. Goldfish are detritus and algae eaters. Many people don’t realize that and end up feeding their goldfish an overnutritious diet, causing a lot of the issues you come across on this board. Anyway, it looks like it’s doing very well. Keep up with the Paraguard.

Looks like the ich is basically gone, however how much time more should I keep using paraguard?
Thanks for all the support by the way

Do you know the ich life cycle?
It gets off the fish, then it goes all over and can infect at that point. You look like you are doing everything okay. I think the most important thing is getting the fish in a quarantine tank.

Hi, yes I know about the ich cycle and I know that even if it is no visible there could still be contageous, that's why I'm asking for how much more should I keep with paraguard. Also he is at a 20 gallon quarantine tank since since day 1.

Awesome! Great to hear. How long was it, since Tuesday? A few more days won’t hurt. Maybe until Sunday or Monday, just to be sure.

I don't know how to thank you scarface . Here is a new update, everything looks very good, going to keep paraguard for a few more days.

Hi, today I saw this white thing, I don't know if it is something normal of if it is ich again.

It doesn't look like it to me. Some goldfish get those pox-looking things that should clear up with good water. I wouldn't be too concerned. It could also be a lack of pigment.

Here is another picture if someone is having a hard time to find the spot.

Yeah, nothing to worry about, imo. If it was ich I would know right away. You likely would as well. One of my goldfish got that same, white pox-like spot when I first had it delivered. It eventually went away on its own. My best guess was that it was carp pox, which is harmless under normal circumstances.
