Goldfish Tank Upgrade - Water Parameters High Ammonia Where To Go From Here?

Just don't use it in the future; I find that it "pH up" causes more problems than solutions.

Oh, and by the way, I'm only across the Tasman Sea!

Imagine a whiny snidish voice here: I’m only across the Tasman Sea! (Oh yay!) more whiny pouty. You’re going to be the death of me.ead:

Update: okay so not sure if I should start a new thread but there’s lots of knowledgeable people here so I’ll post here.

After being extremely diligent and water testing and water changing like a fiend every day for what seems like forever, I now have dream results. Ph 7.5, Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5ppm. BUT my fish is not looking too good.

Now I need to backfill history a bit. You can see from my previous posts that I first encountered issues when I upgraded him to a 70L (my ignorance to the nitrogen cycle was to blame). It was then that he first developed veins in his tail. A vein ruptured and he lost part of his tail (it thankfully grew back). But he’s never really fully recovered. To be honest He wasn’t great before the tank upgrade and thought the new tank would help.

So in the time that’s passed between the 70L tank and moving him into this new 215L tank, a couple of years have gone by and his health has been up and down, despite better water maintenance on my part. He does a lot of bottom sitting. I’ve taken him to the vets, tried countless antibiotics (kanoplex, furan, and vet prescribed stuff), tried salt in the water for parasites. Each time he shows a little improvement but then reverts. I was convinced that if I got him a nice big tank he could get really healthy and then maybe a new fishy friend would cheer him up.

But now I’m here, with the new tank, and perfect water perameters, and he has lots of veins and an area in his tail looking like it might rupture. He also has two new small white bumps (not ich). He’s had one on his head for a long time but it’s improved and is barely noticeable these days. He’s also started to poo white stringy poo.

I feel a bit deflated. I’m not sure where to start now. Straight back into the kanaplex? Or maybe just some salt to see if he improves?

Sorry for the huge post. Just not sure what’s relevant.

He likes to bottom sit quite a lot, but usually sits at the back behind the plant. Call me crazy, but when somethings up he tells me by sitting at the front to ‘show me’. He did this when the ph dropped last week, but ph seems fine.

Sounds so pretty. Like my Angel. She’s a special needs Goldie.
Could you tell me what you’re feeding him?
