Some of my fish have developed red bellies probably from rubbing in sand bottom. But I don't know what's wrong I have been giving them medicated food for septimicea. Any ideas?

What kind of sand is it? What kinds of goldfish do you have? Do only some of them have red bellies? What are your parameters?

I have cichlids white sand from caribsea. All the fish have started showing red fin streaks and cuts in tails. Tails have few white speckles but doesn't seem to be ich. Only 2 have red bellies. Ph 7.6. Ammonia 0. Nitrite 0. Nitrate 10. Fish have been in tank 6 months. Added new fish a week ago it died. So I have been trying to treat the fish left.

Did you quarantine the new fish before adding it?

I didn't the one fish that died I didn't. I have no space for another tank to quarantine and he seemed ok. So now that it's already in the fishes system I want to find out what causing it and how to save the rest.

The red streaks are a classic symptom of septicaemia so I would treat for that unless better advice comes along.

What are you treating them with?

What size tank and how many goldfish?

How often are you doing water changes, and how much are you changing?

If they've been stressed by illness or water quality issues then they will be more prone to other opportunistic illnesses.

I had some die this morning so now I have 5 small fancy goldfish in my 180. I did a 50% water change this morning. And did one Sunday. Still feeding medicated food. But it doesn't look good
