HI everyone
So, we have 2 Goldfish. Both are around 4-5 inches big now, and have been kept indoors at a temperature of around 24`C their whole lives. We've had them for around a year now, and definitely don't want to lose them.
I want to know if it would be all right to move them to an outdoor concrete pond (with filter) or if the change in temperature (it can get pretty cold) would be too much of a shock for them. It is also going into the middle of Winter here right now, but I expect it will take a few months of preparation before the pond would be ready anyway. So around Spring or early Summer is the expected timeframe.
I do know that Goldfish in general can be kept in ponds outside without heating and all that jazz, but my question is for my two specifically because they've spent so long indoors in an aquarium.
The timeframe also means rain, so is there anything I need to keep in mind regarding that (such as algae buildup, PH levels, etc).
I've also never set up a pond before, so ANY tips or advice I could use in addition to the research I'll be doing, would most certainly be welcome.
Thanks a million in advance!!!!
