Goldfish infection

I have a goldfish that was was bread in my pond and moved to my 35 gallon goldfish tank to watch grow. There are 3 other gold fish around the same size as her in there. They will be moved to my pond once they outgrow the tank. This morning I noticed a new fungus like growth on its mouth and can’t seem to find anything like it. I went to freshwater specialist shop and they said it was some sort of bacterial infection. They recommended put it in a qt tank with a sponge filter, salt and melafix. It is currently in there. How often should I change the water? I am thinking every day do 50%. And then would I just have to add back half the amount of salt and melefix I added? All help is appreciate.

sounds like you already have the melafix so just keep using it, but for future reference it is just a mild herbal remedy and not very useful.

what are the water parameters? ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, etc

yes, 50% daily water changes will be good. and add back the salt and melafix.

A little update on the goldfish: the lip is almost healed and I think it will be within 2-3 days. do you want the parameters of the qt tank or display tank?

the ammonia was zero, nitrite zero and nitrates were 100ppm. Because of the high nitrates should I move the fish to my pond ASAP? The goldfish’s lip all so has not gotten better yet. If the melafix and salt are not working should I move it to my pond which has perfect water qualit?
