Golden Rams pairing behaviour

Chewbroccoli

Hi Squad!

I now have two Golden Rams (pretty sure it's a male and female). The female is a lot larger then the male and spends most of her time chasing him away. Sometimes she allows him close but mostly if he is on eye sight she will zoom over to him and try to lightly bite him. Or they swim side by side and stop then she bites him. Or she chases him and he stops and aggressively flaps his fines and kind of reverses back into her.

I am curious about their behaviour. I have read that the female may reject a smaller male and prefers larger males.

I was under the assumption that it's the male that is the one that does all the harrassing.

I have attached pictures as a reference.

I would love some insight in their behaviour.

Sorry, but it looks like two males to me. And one of them has a longfin gene. Not a full longfin, just one gene.

All 4 pics are males IMO also .
9 out of 10 times if the same age the female will be smaller then the male .

Excellent. Just perfect. Looks like I will need to return and review the stocks again at the LFS. Thanks guys. Happy I posted and unhappy with the feedback lol.
