Golden Mystery Snail Dead Within 24 Hrs

I just put a Golden Mystery Snail into my tank and in less than 24 hours his/her shell was upside down in the substrate for more than 8 hours. Any thoughts?

 

How did you acclimate the snail?
Did you put it in flipped over, or right sided?

If you put it in upside down, the snail has trouble righting sometimes, but mysteries seem to be more able to flip over.

 

are you sure its dead? being upside down doesn't always mean its dead

 

So... after posting, I did some more internet research. Realized upside down doesn't mean dead, retrieved the snail from trash can (yes you read that right) put him back in the tank right side up and came back a few minutes later and he was walking around. So I've decided to name him Laz (Lazarus) and me a moron. Pumped about my zombie snail though.

at least you realized before it was too late
there had been a few times where I thought my snail was dead because it was floating lol
