I bought a Gold Rimmed Surgeon fish about three weeks ago, I drip acclimated him for about three hours when I got him home and then put him into my quarantine tank I kept him there for 1.5 or 2 weeks and all looked fine with him and he was eating everything I put in front of him, flake food, brine, algae. So I then introduced him to our big tank.... The next day he was eating and all looked great. Fast forward to a week later and my girlfriend comes walking into the room and tells me that he has ich..... I thought she had to be joking because he was the only new addition..... YUP he had it. I got up the next morning and decided I was going to catch him while he was sleeping and put him in quarantine again.... and now I see no ich, then when I came home last night he had ich spots again.
He is now in Q. again and I'm wondering what to do, our SG is 1.022 and I'm raising his temperature to 82 deg. I really don't want to lose him. Also EVERYONE else in the tank looks great and he was still eating before I captured him.
