Gold Ram Pregnant ?

Hey guys. So in a previous thread I wrote about one of my Gold Rams having an injured mouth from fighting a lot... And now it's been hiding for the last few days.
Today it finally came out for a bit and it has a huge stomach.. I'm not sure if it's a pregnant stomach or not because it was sick. I tried searching for s or details on Gold Rams but there is very limited info out there.. Just keeps coming up with GBR info.
It makes sense if it is pregnant because that could explain the aggression resulting in the wound.

If anyone can link me to some Gold Ram breeding / pregnant info that would be awesome

Gold and Blue rams are the same. Just a color morph.

I know, but because of the different colour and patterns there is things about Golds that German Blues are different with.
Like sexing German Blues is fairly easy... Golds are very hard to sex.
I know Germans get the big fat pink belly but do the Golds also get the pink belly when pregnant ? Because my Gold has a white belly.

Photos added... you can clearly see the belly and also the red face from being hurt.

I'm hoping so though with all my Cory's and Bristlenose I don't think the eggs will last long :/

I'm thinking of investing in some fry nets to separate them from the other fishes. Depending on how they go.. I'm not overly fused about them breeding or not... But when they do it's pretty cool

Couldn't tell ya. Some are better parents than others.
Case in point:
What're your pH/hardness values?

lol, cool little vid they can hold their own that's for sure.

PH is around 7.4... not sure about hardness.. though I do have lots of driftwood throughout which helps soften.. so I guess it would be on the softer side of the scale.

So update on the fish.. Woke up this morning to find it dead at the front of my tank... I think it got too stressed

RIP Mrs Gold Ram..

Why must fish keeping get complicated at times.

I'm so sorry she died. :console: And I was getting excited about babies too!

Better luck next time!

Thanks Tigress.

I guess that's one of the issues in a semI aggressive community.. When breeding there can be lots of stress and bullying. Plus lower chance of surviving babies when they hatch. Just like my BN when they hatched yesterday, all bar one got eaten :/
