Going to the vet....

Well, I am a parent and I can assure you that all animals in my household receive excellent care even if it means I do without something I want. Quite frankly, I know some people whose children, let alone their pets, aren't cared for as well as my pets.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not offended, but such broad generalizations can inhibit effective communication.

My parents do the reverse... they OVERFEED to the extreme and anything is a vet worthy experience. Which I then get to pay for when I get back, despite the fact that I would have never taken the animal to the vet for some of the things they do. *sign* Guess I should count my blessings, at least I know the animals are safe and healthy, even if I have to consider diets for all of them when I return from any trip.

Hope Haley improves. Poor dog has had a rough time of it lately

My dogs are my kids! One has cancer and we did the surgeries and chemo but that made me sicker than the cancer. We took him off the chemo after 6 months and are now treating him holistically with good food, fish oil, vitamins etc. so far there are no new tumors and the one that was I unremovable way in his leg muscle(we amputated the tail, wasn't going to ampute his leg too) hasn't matistizied so we think we made the right choice. That being said, preventive care for heartworms, all other worms, fleas etc along with all of their annual shots is very important and can really prevent spending $$ down the road.

We are active in pit bull rescue and pet insurance is really the way to go. If we had done that for our dog before his pre-existing cancer then we would of only had to pay about 20% out of pocket and when his vet bills have approached nearly 8k that would of saved us a LOT of money. It's usually only like $15 a month for most plans too.

Rx Vitamins https://www.rxvitamins.com has a product called Onco Support that might interest you. It has to be ordered through a vet and it's not cheap but I have seen good results.
