Going To College Leaving Behind Fish Tank.

I'm 17 and ending Junior year. I'm in the process of growing and setting up a really amazing tank but, what pains me is when I leave for college. I will probably be living in a dorm or maybe an apartment. But, its likely that I won't be able to take my fish tank for possibly the 1st year or at worst my entire time at college )=. I'm really the only one in the family who really cares and can properly manage the fish tank, but maybe my dad will take care of the fish. Anyways, I was wondering if it was possible to move a 75 gallon fish tank with probably 15 or more fish to college. If not I guess I'll pick up my hobby once I graduate college.

75 gallon? Probably not in a dorm. Maybe to an apartment but it'll depend on the distance traveled, complex policy, etc.
Also, would you not be coming home for summer break? If you are, who will take care of the fish during the summer? Would you be willing to pay those bills for an empty apartment?

Nope not in a dorm. They have rules about fishtanks. I think 5 gallon is max. Plus dorm rooms are tiny. My daughter couldn't have even fit a 5 gallon tank in her dorm room. I would stop with the 75 gallon set up. You won't be able to keep up with it while in college, and if no one will else will do it, you should work on rehoming your fish before you go.

My parents will probably take care of it, I guess you guys are right, I should just concentrate on studying while I'm in college and I'll get to see my fish whenever I come back home

If you don't trust your family to take care of your fish, you can always sell/give away your fish before you leave, break down the tank, and set it up when you get to a place where you can keep them permanently.

Oh and I have to say that I started with fishkeeping when my daughter went off to college. I inherited her 2 gallon tank that had 2 glofish in it. Now here I am 2 years later, and have 3 tanks to care for of my own. And I finally know how to take care of them the right way. Don't under estimate your parents. If they are willing to at least try and learn, they may enjoy it even more than you do.
