Does anyone know if this glue is safe to use to attach plants in a fish tank

Possibly, since it says nothing about mildew inhibitors and looks like pure silicone; however it looks like you would need to dry out whatever you are attaching and keep the plants wrapped in wet towels (possibly put in a plastic bag to retain moisture) while it cures for at least a day. I’d just use superglue (cryanoacrylate) or hot glue (press roots into glue once glue has cooled some) if you have those.

I agree with the above using cyanoacrylate. But I think, only. Gorilla glue, super glue...

But check the pack and make sure it says cyanoacrylate and nothing else.

And it will be white underwater until the plants fill in. Don't get discouraged by that!

Handy tip when using superglue in an aquarium. As you hold the plant waiting 10 seconds for it to dry throw a pinch of dirt in the glue. A lot less white .
Not my idea but a good tip

Since we're on the subject of cyanoacrylate and i also recommend it, use a dash of baking soda on the glue as you're drying it and it will cure almost instantly.

Great tanks. I did it realize y could use hot glue gun glue. I would think It would not be as strong as Super glue

It’s not quite as good as super glue and pops off easier, but is doable until the plant attaches itself. I prefer the superglue though.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has addressed toxicity over time as this type of thermoplastic breaks down in the tank. Maybe it's a nothingburger but I'm paranoid about anything I put in my tanks other than treated water.

Even though all of the hot aquascapers use cyanoacrylate and thread I still did a lot of research until I felt confident.

You'll probably get it all over your fingers. Nail polish remover gets it off as does soaking and peeling.

I hope you'll post pics of your creation!

I’ve used hot glue to stick together crayfish hiding tubes and haven’t seen any ill effects.

Fisheye . Superglue and it’s toxicity? I hope your research takes you to Vietnam ? A clue in the country and what is the first thing you think of with that name?
