Way out of the blue I KNOW!! But this morn I was sitting watching my fishwhen I saw a orange ball type thing fall from one of our wiggling glass catfish... I then noticed more of these orange balls deep in the fake weeds and a couple floating around the tank...our tank is 30gal has tall weed that the glass catfish love...this is our familys first fish tank we just got the fish last week its ment to be a community tank we do have some sharks a pleco some neon tetras and a a couple more we only have three glass catfish two were getting fat one really fat and the not fat one seems to favor the fastest one but they usually all stay in a group in the middle of the tall weeds...I'm really really not sure if the fat one did infact lay eggs or poop a funny orange ball lol I look and see their are quite a lot orange balls all in the leafs two sharks are always eating n digging their faces deep in them I was never sure what they were doing but if its eggs it makes sence...my question is does anyone know what their eggs look like when I google I'm not seeing anything but that their very difficult to breed any that do are by accident...but if their eggs I will need to protect them to hopefully raise...I don't wanna get a breeder tank n raise poop know what I mean...any one know more about these guys??...they look fantastic and believe me I read a lot their cconditions are ideal for them minus the community possibly eating their eggs or poop...I got pretty excited whed I seen tbis happen...the other day I saw one poop but it was the normal sting kind that's why I'm wpndering about the orange balls...icould try and get a few pix if needed...

Welcome to fishlore!
If they are breeding, it's rare. According to my sources, it's unknown how they reproduce.

It's very rare for them to breed in captivity though it has happened, from what I've read no one has actually witnessed it so don't know their spawning behaviour.
There's an article here on an 'accidental' spawn.

Edit: just found this thread
